More of a meaty topping than a traditional stew, Cincinnati Chili is sweet, savoury, and subtly spicy and traditionally served piled on spaghetti with tons of toppings. This one is all about versatility and is served in different “ways.” Try it Two-Way with just the chili topping and spaghetti — this is the base. To make it Three-Way, add cheese, Four-Way, add onions, or Five-Way by adding kidney beans. Any way, it’s sure to be the talk of your next game day gathering or family get-together!
This blend features the warming spices of cinnamon, clove and all-spice.
Prep tips:
- Easy to make: Mix seasoning with water and a can of tomato paste. Mix with 2 lbs lean ground beef; simmer for 1 ½ hours.
- It’s important to use lean ground beef vs. regular to prevent oil slicks. Hack: Prep ahead and cool. If you have oil slicks, they’re easy to pick out and discard when cool.
- Best cooked uncovered to help liquid evaporate.
- For a smoother texture use an immersion blender to thicken.
- Got leftovers? Swirl into Mac & Cheese, blend with rice and make stuffed peppers, use as a filling for tacos or burritos.
- Spoon over nachos or make a platter loaded fries.
- Makes 6 cups/12 servings.
